Lomo Pike Fly

Lomo Pike Fly

It’s been a while since I posted something on my blog. Well I guess it’s because of winter depression and all. But I promise I’ll post some flies, if nothing else, more often now. Pike fishing season starts on 1st of April here so until then I will post some flies and maybe fish for some trout and chub.

Carp on the fly

Carp on the fly

It has been a while since I posted anything here. I’ve been pretty busy and kinda got bored of all the trouts and chubs so that might be the reason. :) I can’t wait for a bit colder weather to fish for some pike but until then…

Wooden Fly Box

Wooden Fly Box

Hey guys! It’s been a while since I posted something. I do have an excuse. Had a surgery few days ago and I’m still recovering. Don’t worry it was a routine surgery but recovery period is a bit boring. Stitches below my right arm don’t allow me to go fly fishing. I can’t even practise fly casting. FUBAR! :) Anyways… I’m not missing much. Pike has alot of baitfish food right now so it’s nearly impossible to catch any.

Pike Slider

Pike Slider

I came to this idea by inverting the popper foam. It’s made with weed guards so it will be perfect for ponds in spring. I used craft fur only for this one and even though it’s 18cm. long I hope there wont be any problem delivering the fly.

Turbo Dubbing Twister

Turbo Dubbing Twister

I just got this tool from Fairy River fly fishing tackle manufacture for testing. I barely tie any flies beside streamers so I am not going to use this one for dubbing but hair and all kind of furs. The hooks rotate on ball bearings for smooth, fast and precise operation. The best thing about this tools is that you don’t need to use both hands.

Fusha Pike Streamer

Fusha Pike Streamer

I’ve never tried this color on my flies before and I guess it’s worth experimenting. Just got my Wapsi craft fur and I guess you’ll see alot of these in my fly box. I find craft fur one of the best materials I’ve ever tried. It’s so light synthetic and it’s so easy to cast such a flies. It’s giving you a benefit of fly fishing for pike with light rods and it’s quite an experience.
